2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude vs 2019 Jeep Cherokee Limited

The 2019 Jeep Cherokee has come roaring out of the gate with a redesigned exterior, improved interior features, and an all-new turbocharged engine. It has quickly become one of the most popular small SUVs in Ames, and it's easy to see why. But which model is right for you?

The Jeep Cherokee is offered in several trim levels, and today we're going to compare the 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude vs Cherokee Limited, so that you can decide which trim level best fits your needs.

The Jeep Cherokee Latitude

While the Latitude is the base trim level of the 2019 Jeep Cherokee, it is anything but barebones. A hefty standard feature set makes the Latitude a great choice for many Ames buyers, especially if they're looking for a high quality, capable vehicle that won't break the bank.

Standard features on the Jeep Cherokee Latitude include 17-inch wheels, automatic xenon headlights, heated mirrors, Bluetooth, rearview camera, and a new 7-inch touchscreen interface with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay paired to a six-speaker sound system.

When it comes to engine options, the 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude is available with three different engines. The base engine is a 2.4l four-cylinder, while upgrade options include the brand new 2.0l turbo and a 3.2l V6. The turbo is an exciting new engine option, producing 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. This compares very favorably to the optional V6, which makes 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque. It's also a more efficient engine, and that torque is definitely noticeable on the low-end.

And, of course, the Cherokee Latitude wouldn't be a Jeep if it weren't offered with AWD as an option. Choosing a Cherokee Latitude with AWD will give Ames owners great control even in inclement weather. Overall, the 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude is a great option, coming in at an affordable price and with an impressive feature set for the segment.

The Jeep Cherokee Limited

Skipping over the Latitude Plus, the Jeep Cherokee Limited expands upon the Latitude's feature set and adds some very desirable extras. This is one of the most popular trim levels for the 2019 Jeep Cherokee, as it's right in the middle when it comes to features and price.

Standard features on the Jeep Cherokee Limited include everything from the Latitude, as well as keyless ignition and entry, power front seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, leather upholstery, heated seats & steering wheel, Satellite radio, auxiliary household power outlet, dual-zone climate control, power liftgate, auto-dimming rearview mirror, remote start, and a universal garage door opener.

It also upgrades to 18-inch wheels, and adds notable infotainment and tech features. On the safety front, you get blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and rear parking sensors as standard. Other tech features include an upgraded driver information display and an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

As you can see, the upgrades over the Latitude are significant. From its leather interior to its standard tech and safety features, the 2019 Jeep Cherokee Limited is dressed to impress. Like its Latitude counterpart, the Limited can be had with any of Jeep's three engine options, and either FWD or AWD. Although it doesn't rise to the level of the Trailhawk when it comes to off-roading, the Limited's AWD will keep owners prepared for what nature throws at them.

Limited vs Latitude

One thing's for sure: Both the Cherokee Limited and Cherokee Latitude are Jeeps through and through. Both share the same engine options and build quality, while mainly differing in feature content. Your preferred trim level will mainly come down to which features are most important to you. The good thing is that you can try both for yourself before you make a decision.
